Background

CHiMERA (stylized with all capital letters, except the 'i') is an electronic and audio equipment distributor on Zynima, who brands all his goods with a black and red colour scheme. He spent the first years of his life in Zynima's outskirts with dreams of becoming a musician, struggling to make ends meet. However, during a chance encounter, he saved a shopkeeper from Verdin Square from a sandstorm, and was subsequently invited to work alongside them in the bot's shop.

Although the job consisted of menial labour, it paid enough for him to buy a home in the heart of Zynima City, where he took a second part-time job as an exotic dancer for a year. By then, he'd saved up enough money to start commissioning factories to produce audio equipment for himself and his close friends. Word of mouth spread quickly, allowing him to begin his own small business with his custom goods.

Now, CHiMERA has expanded to become the leading producer of audio and electronic hardware on Zynima. Anywhere there is music playing, his brand name is likely to be seen nearby.

He claims he got his name from a series of internal hardware failures during his first few years of life, forcing him to replace failing parts from various sources to simply stay alive.

Appearance & traits

CHiMERA is a tall, humanoid, black and red robot, striking a powerful resemblance to Aural Automaton's colours and general shape. His model is very muscular and well-built, and he typically opts not to wear clothes, except for a plated skirt covering both sides of his hips. He also wears a pair of armoured pauldrons with panels draped atop his upper arms; both the panels on his arms and the plates on his skirt feature several built-in speakers capable of playing any sounds he wants at a very high volume. His head is a solid black screen all over, and it has several tall horns protruding from the back, sticking straight up. He is capable of using his screen to display any image he wants, but only in red; he usually displays a pair of half-open eyes and a toothy grin.

Although he rarely uses it, CHiMERA is an expert of using sound to invoke overwhelming and disorienting illusions within nearby robots.

Personality

CHiMERA is always ready to hang out with friends and fans, never afraid to be the star of the show. Although he may come across as crude and blunt in everyday interactions, he is very kind-hearted and chivalrous, and would never hesitate to defend or assist somebody in need.

He considers himself a free spirit - he doesn't like being stuck in one location for too long for any reason. Although he tends to be flirtatious and romantic towards close friends, he refuses to be bound in any sort of serious committed relationship with anybody else.

Because he has stage 1 corruption poisoning, he occasionally experiences mood swings which often lead to periods of hyperactivity.
