Background

Skye is a young, unmodified human adult who dabbles in mechanical sciences. He grew up comfortably with a single father, Reo, and a younger sister, Cassandra, in Karma's Gateway. Due to a complicated business arrangement involving Reo's work at Maroon, Skye and Cassandra now live together on their own in Lower Miyatama; due to his sister's young age, Skye acts as her guardian.

While this has strained the relationship between Skye and his father, the two siblings have grown very close to one another, keeping each other optimistic in gloomy times. He works in the Velvet Crumble bakery to sustain their simple lifestyle.

Skye goes by the name Dev or Skye_Dev on the internet.

Appearance & traits

Skye is a fair-skinned human with messy brown hair, narrow glasses, and a largely unremarkable blue and black wardrobe. He almost always appears calm and relaxed, even in stressful situations, which gives off a somewhat aloof impression at first glance. Because he has a hobby of tinkering with small devices, as well as his prior studies in mechanical sciences, he has a strong understanding of how machines and tools work. One of his favourite trinkets that he is almost never found without is a lighter modified to have an extra tall flame (about a foot in height).

Because Skye is a baseline human with no augments or bionic prosthetics, he has no exceptional or superhuman abilities.

Personality

Skye has a very flexible personality; for example, when with his younger sister, he strives to be a gentle, stand-up role model for her. However, when with older and more mature friends, he quickly adapts to a more hip and sassy personality. In private, Skye is generally talkative and comfortable, but he becomes very anxious when out alone in public. For this reason, he likes to travel with friends whenever possible. If he does end up in an uncomfortable situation, he has a knack for remaining calm and collected on the outside, hiding any stress or fear he may be experiencing.

He has a habit of becoming self-absorbed while working on personal projects - especially when tinkering with electronics - and occasionally finds himself making excuses to justify any selfish behaviour he may exhibit during these times. Although he is aware of this flaw, he sometimes struggles to correct it.
