Background

Born into a privileged family of entrepreneurs, Soma was raised on planet Hallow and quickly developed an interest in both business science and sport shooting as a teenager. Although his upbringing was generally comfortable as an only child, he was attacked by a group of hostile robots at the age of 15 in a very traumatic event. His arms were mangled in the assault, permanently rendering them unusable. He opted to undergo surgery to replace them both with biomechanical prosthetics, allowing him to use his arms and hands once again, with even greater ability than before. However, this event would give him a lasting hatred towards robots as a whole.

Soma remains on planet Hallow, working as the security chief for the megacorporation, Maroon. Although he lives in the city of Era, his job takes him across Hallow and the space surrounding the planet, performing missions directed to him by Maroon's CEO, Redmond Severus.

Appearance & traits

Soma has a tall, average build. He wears a red suit and matching top hat, with a white undershirt and several gold decorations adorning his outfit (often taking the form of diamond-shaped bracelets floating around his clothing). His most striking feature is his face; the left half is entirely black and impossible to see, while the right half has a white mask covering it, with a large circular hole for the eye and little smile drawn onto it.

His arms and shoulders are both completely mechanical, giving him exceptional fine motor skills and physical strength in these limbs. They aid him significantly in his jobs as a marksman, allowing him greatly improved accuracy when aiming and firing weapons. However, they are a source of great insecurity to him, likely due to his disdain for sentient machines. For this reason, he always wears white gloves and long sleeves to hide the mechanical nature of his arms and hands.

Personality

Soma has a very domineering and cruel personality. When interacting with others, he retains a civil and professional demeanor, but won't hesitate to make snide or underhanded remarks depending on who he's speaking with. He has little regard for others' feelings, typically resulting in widespread scorn from workplace subordinates. On his own time, he actively searches for methods with which to gain societal power and influence, up to and including blackmail and murder; he has no qualms with ending others' lives for his own personal gain.

Due to traumatic events in his youth, Soma despises intelligent robots. In professional environments, he will act as neutral as possible around them, but given the opportunity, he would take pleasure in destroying sentient machines.

Although he desperately hides it, Soma is very sensitive about certain issues, such as the state of his arms. If provoked with the right subjects and remarks, he can easily become emotionally compromised, often resulting in fits of anger and lack of rational judgment.
