Background
Janice was discovered on planet Hallow in a remote forestry camp at the age of 26, disguised as one of the human administrators of the forest operation. It's unclear how long she had been posing as a staff member of the camp, but her educational and social skills gave evidence that she was not malevolent towards the crew that worked there. However, a specialized strike team was dispatched when her true identity was discovered, and Janice was imprisoned in part of the Maroon corporation upon her successful capture.
After careful observation during her first months in the research facility, it became clear to the head office that Janice was the most stable Volon they had ever encountered. With diligent monitoring along with her agreement to cooperate with her captors, her intelligence was recognized and she given the special privilege of working with the staff outside her cell. Janice now acts as a research assistant in the facility in order to help the humans understand more about volons.
Appearance & traits
As with all volons, Janice is capable of limited shapeshifting. She is very skilled at mimicking humans.
Despite almost always taking the form of a roughly 5' 11" tall female human, her "true" height is about 8'. She has several features that make her stand out while in her preferred form - Janice has ghostly white skin, she keeps her biological Volon mouth intact, and her human-like eyes have black, plus-shaped pupils. Contrasting her skin tone, she sports a head of black mid-length hair with flat bangs, and she has a small black symbol of a log and a sawblade underneath her right eye. Instead of forming clothes with her own flesh, she wears regular human clothes, with her most common outfit being a black tank top, blue jeans, and either brown steel-toed boots or grey runners. Janice also wears a brown hoodie when she's cold.
Because of her disdain towards Volon blood, she always carries a few small bandages around with her in case of any wounds.
Personality
For Volon standards, Janice is very benevolent and civil. She enjoys teaching others, especially when it comes to forests and their ecosystems, which is made quite easy because of her patience and compassion. On the contrary, she is very easy to anger when it comes to discrimination and racism; Janice makes a strong effort to show people that not all volons are dangerous or murderous, and she becomes appropriately frustrated when her efforts fail.
Janice still suffers from a nearly insatiable hunger despite her stability, but she is much better at controlling it than most other volons. She generally follows the human standard of eating three proper meals per day, although she snacks almost incessantly between meals if given the opportunity. She acts relatively rationally in response to intense hunger, merely becoming irritable and angry in the worst case scenario.
