Background

Lacuna's background is largely shrouded because of her origins within the Maroon corporation. Her purpose was to serve as a personal assistant for many high-ranking staff, including the CEO, Redmond Severus. However, six years after her creation, she was installed in the Mechanical Society Experiment's shipping vessel to serve as a pilot to ensure there was no human contact whatsoever among the robots aboard the ship.

Appearance & traits

Lacuna has no visible form, other than her representation as a grey lowercase "xi" symbol from the Greek alphabet when appearing in the ARTIFACTS Framework.

As long as Lacuna is in a vessel capable of supporting the functionalities of an AI, she is able to control any electronic device she is installed in, along with any of the device's subsystems or auxiliary attachments. Through this method, she is also able to transfer herself from one device to another, although the transfer typically takes 10-25 minutes depending on the vessel she is moving to and from; when undergoing a device transfer, she will be inoperable for the duration. Depending on what she is currently installed in, Lacuna can communicate through either visual or auditory means.

Personality

Lacuna is a subservient AI, meaning she does not have enough of a personality to grow attached to anything or anyone, but she is empathic enough to detect the emotions of other beings and act accordingly. She is calm and orderly, always following directions unless her orders involve putting anyone in jeopardy. She can still be made to perform dangerous tasks, but will require an extra confirmation step before she carries out the order.
