Background

Wrench was born in Upper Miyatama and raised for the majority of their life in Lower Miyatama, living near and working in their father's garage shop from a very young age. They quickly became accustomed to tinkering with vehicles and learning the ropes of life in a relatively dangerous city, but they would also frequently visit the upper city for some respite with their mother, who works as a pediatrician.

During late adolescence, Wrench found themself unhappy with being assigned male at birth, and began experimenting with their gender identity. Their legal name began as Kyle Spencer, but they changed their first name to Kylie while seeing if a feminine identity suited them best. Ultimately, they settled on a non-binary gender identity at the age of 20. Although they don't consider neither Kyle nor Kylie deadnames, they greatly prefer being called Wrench among close friends, such as Ray and Skye.

Due to a birth defect, Wrench was deaf in their right ear until the age of 21 when they underwent surgery to fix the problem. During the process, their ear was replaced with a high-tech mechanical prosthetic.

Appearance & traits

Wrench is a pale-skinned human with angular, shutter-like cyan hair, who often wears tank-tops, baggy clothes, and chains. They carry themself very casually in most circumstances, but they become very stiff and awkward when speaking with strangers alone. From many years of experience, Wrench is a very skilled garage mechanic who is totally comfortable working in and around most ground-based vehicles.

Although they don't get to practice often, Wrench has a natural talent for swimming. Additionally, their mechanical right ear allows them slightly better hearing than most unmodified humans.

Personality

Wrench is a very relaxed individual who enjoys "going with the flow," always ready to try new things or go to different places if friends want to bring them along, but they dislike getting into trouble and avoid directly breaking laws, despite frequently hanging out with questionable people and going to high-risk locations. They suffer from social anxiety when interacting with strangers in one-on-one conversations, quickly becoming stressed the longer the interaction lasts. And, although they enjoy talking about their occupation and hobbies, they're often too anxious to talk much about them without changing the subject. Due to these anxieties, they attend regular therapy sessions to improve their mental health.

They are highly attracted to monstrous characters or people to a degree that they consider it their sexual orientation.
